Exploring our connection to food.

A party without food is just a meeting… and those should be emails. Our love for people and food is sincere and ready to be at the center of your next get together.

About Events by Necessary

Born into a Southern family with Creole roots, what is now considered farm to table was everyday life. Raised with her grandparents’ farm next door, Polly was passed down in all traditions of making jellies and wines, to butchering farm and wild game, to growing fruits and vegetables. Creating beautiful tablescapes and etiquette classes was mandatory for any Southern Belle for dinners. Her grandmother always fed everyone that came over with fresh pastries, pies, dinner courses, and coffee was available daily. Now, all those things she had to learn is what she holds on to tightly as a homage to her grandmothers and village that raised her.

Working in the hospitality industry for years, Polly also found her love for feeding the masses as well. It all came full circle with what she was taught as a child being honed into a profession. But, with everything, experience is gained over time, and the same could be said about the evolution of Necessary.

Polly has worked with many clients who have differing needs, tastes, and preferences that allowed Polly to rediscover her appreciation for going beyond delicious food. Creating an aesthetically pleasing space and the right atmosphere caused Polly to rethink the purpose of Necessary.

Events by Necessary was birthed out of a desire to create spaces of love and appreciation; an ode to experiences.

An ode is something that shows respect or celebrates the worth or influence of another. Events by Necessary are guided by creating from a heartfelt and personal place.  So, what does that mean? It means we take celebrating very personally.

Just as one would write love letters, we write by creating memorable experiences that celebrate. Our approach to the event and the event itself is personal to us. We want to create experiences that our clients will forever remember. It has to be done right.

Your celebration will be respected, created with class, and approached with beautifully lavish taste.

Sincerely,

Polly Smith
